Certificates & Awards
In 2006, Martinair received a Platinum designation by Aviation Research Group/US (ARG/US) through its Charter Evaluation and Qualification (CHEQ) system. ARG/US is an industry leader in the field of aviation information collection, analysis, and distribution. The ARG/US CHEQ system has three major components: historical safety ratings; current aircraft and pilot background checks; and on-site safety audits. This rate-based scoring method is designed to provide a general peer to peer comparison of the relative safety histories of like-sized operators.
The highest level of ARG/US safety ratings, Platinum, is awarded to operators meeting the criteria for Silver and Gold, and, in addition, successfully pass an ARG/US on-site safety audit. Administered by trained, experienced aviation auditing professionals, the ARG/US audit evaluates the operator against industry best practice standards. A Platinum rating requires a functioning Safety Management System; a clear, workable Emergency Response Plan; and appropriate written standards, implementation, and records for all major aspects of Operations and Maintenance.
The ARG/US Platinum designation is not easily attainable. Currently, only about 5% of all US operators are granted this coveted rating level.
